1. Interpretation
The definitions below apply to these terms and conditions;
1.1 “we/us/our;” Doors and Handles UK, whose registered place of business is;

1.2 “you/your”: the person, firm or company who purchases goods from us.
1.3 “goods”: any goods which we have agreed to supply to you.
1.4 “services”: any services which we have agreed to supply to you.
1.5 “internet sale”: any sale placed via the internet, email or telephone.
1.6 “contract”: the contract between you and us for the sale and purchase of the goods and services incorporating these terms and conditions.
1.7 “confirmation of supply”: the written confirmation from us to you agreeing to supply your order.
1.8 “our website”: www.doorsandhandles.uk.com, which is owned and operated by Doors and Handles UK.
2. Basis of the Contract
2.1 When placing an order with us, you are making an offer to buy goods. We will send you an email to confirm that we have received your order.
2.2 Once we have received your order, we will email you to confirm that we accept your order, and a contract has been made between us.
2.3 In the unlikely event that goods are no longer available, or that we have made a pricing mistake, we will advise you of this by email. You will not receive an acceptance of order email, and there will be no contract.
2.4 Images on this website are for illustrative purposes only. Your goods may vary slightly from the images shown on the website and will not include any of the accessories shown, unless otherwise stated in the specification of goods. Whilst goods may be shown assembled, they may require assembly by you.
2.5 We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours of our products that appear on this website. However, we cannot guarantee that your monitor’s display of any colour will accurately reflect the colour of the actual goods.
2.6 Whilst we try to be as accurate as possible, all information provided is approximate and in good faith.
2.7 By placing an order with us;
i) you are confirming that the products and quantities entered are correct. Any changes made after the order has
been placed, will incur an additional charge;
ii) you agree to and accept these terms and conditions, as well as our privacy policy and terms of website use;
iii) you are legally capable of entering into a binding contract;
iv) you are at least 18 years old;
v) you are resident in the United Kingdom.
3. Samples and Quotations
3.1 We may, on our site or on request provide to you samples, descriptions and/or drawings of the goods or advertising catalogues or brochures. These are produced solely to provide you with an approximate idea of the goods they describe. They are provided to give an indication of the quality, colour or description of the goods that are for sale on our site.
3.2 Samples are subject to a small charge, which will be notified to you at the time the sample is requested. Such charge (does not include postage and packaging) will be refunded when a full order (over £250.00)is made within within 30 days and a Dispatch Confirmation sent.
4. Placing an Order
4.1 You can use our website to place an order by selecting the product you wish to buy and by adding it to your basket. Items that are not required can be removed from your basket at any time. 4.2 Carriage charges will be shown before you place your order.
4.3 You will be required to pay for the goods in full at time of ordering.
4.4 Secure payment facilities are used for online purchases. You can pay for your order by Visa, Mastercard, Delta/Connect or Paypal.
4.5 All Prices quoted on our website are in GB pounds and include VAT at the current rate of 20%.
4.6 Once your order has been confirmed, changes may not be possible or may incur additional charges or delays.
4.7 The contract will relate only to those goods shown on the order confirmation we have sent to you. We will not be obliged to supply any other goods.
5. Delivery
5.1 We will deliver the goods ordered by you to the address you provide on your order. Your credit, debit card or Paypal account must be registered to the same address.
5.2 Despatch will normally be within 20 working days from our confirmation of supply, although this is not guaranteed. If we become aware of any unexpected delay, we will inform you accordingly.
5.3 We will normally deliver the goods within 3-5 working days of our despatch
5.4 Your order may arrive in more than one delivery.
5.5 We only deliver products to mainland Great Britain. (We do not deliver to any of the Channel Islands, Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Grampian, Highland or Islands of Scotland or overseas).
5.6 You must be at home to accept the delivery of your order. Normal delivery times are between the hours of 9am and 6pm Monday-Friday unless notified otherwise. We will not accept responsibility for loss or damage if you instruct the delivery driver to leave the goods unattended.
5.7 Most of the products are relatively heavy items and you may be required to assist the driver in offloading your order. You must ensure that reasonable access is available, at least one able bodied person is available to offload and that delivery can take place in a safe and lawful manner. Deliveries will be to ground floor only.
5.8 If you are not at home, when the delivery is attempted, you could incur a re-delivery charge. This also applies if delivery is refused and then required to be re-delivered.
5.9 Disposal of packaging is your responsibility.
5.10 If the packaging of the products is damaged on delivery, please write “packaging damaged” when signing. Therefore, if there is any damage to the products during transit, we are able to recover the costs. Please check the goods on delivery, if any of the goods are found to be missing or damaged, you must notify us within 2 working days.
5.11 Free delivery on kitchen door orders over £275.00. Additional charges may occur if you mix doors from different ranges, handles and accessories as they may be treated as individual orders. An email will be sent to you advising this is the case before the order is placed. Delivery charge for worktops is £60.00.
6. Title and Risk
6.1 The goods will be your responsibility at time of delivery. Once the goods have been delivered, they will be held at your own risk and we will not be liable for any subsequent damage to the goods or for their loss
7. Cancellations and Returns
7.1 If you are a contracting consumer, you may cancel a contract at any time within 14 calendar days, beginning on the day after your purchase, unless the goods have been personalised or modified to your specification. Where the goods have been made to your specification or clearly personalised, you do not have the right to cancel and will be liable to pay the full costs. You as the consumer assumes responsibility for the goods being suitable for the purpose of which they are intended.
These goods would include made to measure doors (non-standard sizes), or any door which you have asked us to drill hinge holes.
7.2 To cancel a contract you must inform us in writing and return the goods in their original packaging (with no signs of the packaging being open) to ourselves/suppliers within 14 calendar days at your own cost. You have a legal obligation to take reasonable care of the goods whilst they are in your possession. If you fail to comply with this obligation, we may have a right of action against you for compensation.
7.3 You may not return any goods that have been installed
7.4 If you return the goods because you require an exchange or have cancelled the contract between us within the 14 day cooling off period, we will process the refund due to you within 30 days of the day on which you returned the goods to the supplier. In this case we will refund the price of any goods less any restocking charge of up to 30%. You will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to the supplier.
7.5 If you return the goods because you think the goods are defective, or in circumstances where you notify us the goods are defective and we agree to collect them from you on a specified date at our cost, or we agree that you can provide suitable photographic evidence, we will examine the returned goods or evidence as appropriate and will notify you that we;
i) will provide you with a full or partial refund via email within a reasonable period of time;
ii) will replace the goods; or
iii) will repair the goods
7.6 If you fail to return the goods, we will arrange for them to be collected and we will charge you for the direct cost of collection. If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods before they are returned, and this results in damage or deterioration, we will charge you for the cost of this.
7.7 We will refund all monies paid to us by you within 30 days, usually by the method originally used to pay for your purchase.
7.8 These terms and conditions will apply to any repaired or replacement goods.
8. Quality and Warranty
8.1 Pronto and Zurfiz products are warranted for a period of six years, all of our other products come with a guarantee period of 12 months. We will replace or repair defective goods at our discretion, free of charge. Where an item is no longer available, we will offer a substitute. Where we replace defective goods, you are responsible for the disposal of the defective goods. Should we decide at our discretion, to collect the defective goods, you are responsible for the repackaging for suitable
8.2 We warrant that goods will be:
i) of satisfactory quality within the meaning of the Sales of Good Act 1979
ii) reasonably fit for purpose.
8.3 Where the goods have a manufacturer’s warranty of more than 12 months as indicated on our website, we will assist you in obtaining benefit of such warranty.
8.4 High Gloss Doors should be allowed to cure for seven days after removing the protective film.
8.5 Doors should be cleaned in accordance with our care and maintenance instructions.
8.6 Doors situated below a sink, or covering a dishwasher/washing machine are not covered, unless damage is anything other than excessive water
8.7 Components placed near heat sources such as ovens, radiators, grills, boiling kettles, etc are not covered by guarantee unless protected by suitable heat strips and a suitable gap left for heat to escape.
8.8 Other items such as handles and worktops are guaranteed for one year unless stated otherwise. Within this timescale we will replace defective goods free of charge.
8.9 We are unable to guarantee an exact colour match due to the nature of the product.
8.10 All products are manufactured within tolerances of +/- 1.5mm.
8.10 We will not be liable for any breach of the above warranties unless we receive written notice from you of such breach and we, or our suppliers are given reasonable opportunity to inspect and, at our discretion collect the goods. However, you will be charged for the replacement item, which will be credited in full if the returned item is found to be a breach of any of the other warranties.
8.11 Should you wish to make a claim based upon defects in the goods as received, you must notify us in writing within two working days of delivery. If your claim is for transit damage, you must notify us within 24 hours of delivery.
9. Liability
9.1 We will not be liable for any defect arising from wear and tear, wilful damage, negligence, failure to follow our instructions, misuse, alteration or repair of the goods without our written approval.
9.2 We will not be liable for any loss or delays arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control – including, but not limited to, failure by our suppliers to deliver on time, goods that are damaged in transit or goods that have to be replaced for any reason.
9.3 We will not be liable for any consequential or special loss arising out of any breach of condition, warranty or contract on our part in respect of the goods. Our liability for any such breach in respect of the goods will be limited to their net invoice value, or, at our discretion, to replacement of the goods.
9.4 We will not be liable for any defects, injury, loss or damage resulting from your negligence or arising from installation in a damp environment, lack of proper maintenance, improper use, accidents, unauthorised alteration, faulty workmanship or negligence on the part of others.
9.5 We will not be liable for any inaccurate statements, errors or omissions contained in any brochure or literature product by any manufacturer over which we have no control.
10. Cancellation by us
10.1 We have the right to cancel the contract between us if:
i) our suppliers have insufficient stock to deliver the goods you have ordered or such goods have been discontinued;
ii) we do not deliver to your area; or
iii) one or more of the goods you ordered was listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical error or an error in the pricing received by us from our supplier.
10.2 If we do cancel your contract, we will notify you by email and will re-credit your account by any sum deducted by us as soon as possible but in any event within 30 days of your order. We will not be liable to pay any additional compensation for disappointment suffered or any other costs incurred by you.
11. Variation
11.1 We have the right to revise and amend these terms and conditions from time to time to reflect changes in market conditions affecting our business, changes in technology, changes in methods of payment, changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements and changes in our systems capabilities.
11.2 You will be subject to the policies and terms and conditions in force at the time you order goods from us, unless any change to those policies or these terms and conditions is required to be made by law or government authority (in which case it will apply to orders previously placed by you), or if we notify you of the change to those policies or these terms and conditions before we send you a dispatch confirmation (in which case we have the right to assume that you accepted the change to the terms and conditions).
12. Exclusion of third party rights
These terms are for the benefit of you and us, and are not intended to benefit any third party or be enforceable by any third party.
13. Law and jurisdiction
Contracts for the purchase of goods through our site and any other dispute or claim arising out of, or in connection with them, or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) will be governed by English law. Any dispute or claim arising out of or in connections with such goods or their formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
